Racing or Motorsport as we would call it here in Germany as well is a men made sport. Of course there are all various forms of genders race against each other all around the globe, but only “men” can be as stupid, ignorant, insert whatever word that may fit from your perspective, to drive in circles for hours without an end just to see who is the fastest. Motorsport is an egocentric sport. Racing is about showing off how good you are. But honestly, isn’t motorsport something else entirely? Isn’t it the love for the fuel burning engines, the race cars, the high risk, the adrenalin, the competition? Or wait, isn’t it all about the money, the publicity, the TV coverage?

Ask ten people and you will get ten different answers, motorsport isn’t easy to understand. True, cars race against each others in circles, the fastest wins, the end of the story, but that’s just one perspective how to see it. In this season we will focus on motorsport from different angles. Why is motorsport a team sport? How do the teams make money? Who is paying all of that?
