Another week another race. This time the infamous 24h of Le Mans.
Endurance racing has changed quite often over time. From the adventures beginning of some humble man to the modern 24h sprint races we can experience today. Racing is changing like everything else in life.
Money drives the world, and especially the world of racing. That car manufactures use the races to promote their brands shouldn’t be a secret. Of course they want to sell more cars, I have no problem with that. But once the political interest overtake the sportsmanship and the spirit of racing I start to wonder. Is this all really necessary?
Couldn’t we just make it a little bit more affordable? A little bit closer to the real world, to the cars you and I drive? But it’s of course very simple. People want to drive faster. So the cars have to be faster. And faster cars need to be developed. People have to get paid. The wheel starts turning and before you notice the cars cost what they cost today.
Well, anyways. Enjoy the race! Hopefully Porsche will get through the night.
See you next time!
