It’s not just a title, it’s an addiction.
The need for speed is real. Once you have experienced the thrill, your brain will tell you to do it over and over again. As the saying goes, “It’s not the speed that kills you, it’s the sudden stop”, taking a break from racing is hard. It’s just like any other drug. Your brain will fight against you, no matter what! Get back into the car and fight! Believe it or not, but I am still missing my formula student times. I just loved the speed of that small and nimble race car.
With the simulator it’s something else. The trill is good but never the same. You still get the full package with the adrenalin kick, the trembling hands and the high heart rate, but somehow your brain knows that it isn’t real. Get into a car and drive around some roundabouts and you will notice the difference. Once you are feeling the forces pulling at your body in the corner you know that it is real.
I need to drive more, I know. But this will change in October.
See you next time!
