“Ok, what? You write about an Audi? Here? In this category? Sure, you work at Audi, but what the hell?”
It’s not a secret that I am a huge fan of the one car does it all solution. Why? Because it makes life so much easier. If you have a big house with an even larger garage, sure, go for it and buy thousands of cars. But at the end of the day I am lucky if I get one garage spot. It’s not just that of course. A car cost money. Insurance, taxes, tires and breaks, maintenance, you name it. The more cars you have, the higher your fleet costs, that’s a fact. Another problem many people underestimate, the more cars you have, the more you struggle to drive them. Damages from standing around are a huge factor, especially with more valuable cars. But anyways, lets talk about the Audi now.
The Audi RS3 is the definition of a one car solution. You have enough space, power and comfort to either go grocery shopping or on the autobahn. Of course the car feels at home everywhere besides a race track, but even that would be possible if you just want to have some fun. But what makes this car so special besides the 5 cylinder sound? It’s the usability. The car isn’t 5 meters long, the car isn’t 2 meters wide, the car isn’t too heavy and of course the design is not too aggressive. If you have an all black car, it could also be a regular A3. Nobody will look at you with that face you get from driving around in a Porsche.
All in all, the car really suits my profile. The only issue is the relatively high price and the high running costs. How often do we really need the power of a 400 PS car? In reality we are stuck in traffic or driving on a road with a speed limit. Would I buy one? Actually, yes!
See you next time!
