I can’t work next to the simulator all day long, not thinking about driving some laps in the evening. And if my time allows, of course I am going to do that. But being back on the simulator also means having to struggle through everything that comes with it. Knee problems, idiots in online lobbies, crashes all day long. Not that I would miss that after all, but it’s a part of the game. Recently there was a new update for Assetto Corsa Competizione. They know have GT2 race cars in their portfolio. Cars which require a different driving style compared to the normal GT3, GT4 or CUP cars. The funny thing about not driving regularly, like I do these days, is that it takes me only seconds to feel at home in a new car. There is something that comes over time, something that makes it all easier. And do you want to know what it is? It’s that I became better with the basics. People wonder what does it take to become good at something. I think a big part is becoming good at the basics. In fact becoming so good, that the basics become you.
