Sleep, recovery, time to rest, call it how you want. Without enough sleep our bodies don’t work. We feel exhausted, tired, and week. Sleep is important, everyone knows that. But who knows how to sleep correctly?
Over the last 10 or so years I have tried a lot of things to improve my sleep. Looking at some of those approaches, they were doomed to fail anyways. But some have potential. I like the reduced screen time before sleep. Just give yourself a no screen time before going to sleep. It really helps. Another thing was just giving yourself enough sleep. I know, this sounds really stupid when thinking about it. But it works. If you wake up in the morning feeling too tired and exhausted, just give yourself more time to sleep. There was a time in my life, actually I am back at this at the moment, when my sleep isn’t good, but the sleep quality is superb. I get up feeling tired because I didn’t sleep enough, but regarding the time I slept, the sleep was very effective. In combination with a bit more sleep, this can be the sweet spot.
Another point is of course physical and psychological exercise. After a long day doing sport, we just need rest, no matter what is going on inside our head. The same is true for very exhausting days in the office.
Analyst your sleep and work on it. It will help you a lot more then other things in life.
See you next time!
