Last Sunday I was joining an online meeting about getting started with your own business. While the information of the talk was organized in a good way, there was not much to learn, honestly. The problem with the most things in life is that the truths is so obvious and natural to us, that we forget about knowing it all already. We just do not see a chance to use the wisdom ourselves. We do not do whatever it takes. We do not run the extra mile. We are always trying to make things more complex and difficult.

But while I was listening to the presentation with my girlfriend, a question started to arise. Why is this person doing the presentation for us anyways? What is this persons intention? Practicing with us, so that he can convince paying customers in the future? Doing us a favor? The problem I see out here in the World Wide Web is that there are too many people making money with the desperation of other people trying to find a way out.

It’s noble of you to help other people! But why do they do it? The longer I look at those people to more I understand what they do. They do not really use their “knowledge” to make a fortune themselves, they are trying to sell their “knowledge” to other knowledge seeking people. Their whole business idea is based on teaching other people how to make it. Well, sounds like a big scam to me! But how can I differentiate myself from them. Sure, I make my money using my own knowledge in my personal career. But one day I might want a second or third income stream? I guess the solution is a clear communication of what you do. I want to see more people out there being honest about their intentions and business models. Only with a transparent communication of what is going on, people will no longer feel getting scammed.
