We all need to eat something and at the end of the day we all eat. But it’s not only important that we eat, it’s also important what we eat and when. I am not an expert in the field of nutrition and I do not claim to be one. But I know one thing! My nutrition sucks! No, honestly! My nutrition is too one-sided, too weak on veggies and too much processed food.
Over the last decade I have been trying all kinds of nutritions. I was vegan for over a year, I was vegetarian for over two years. I have been trying all kind of time related strategies. I did 16 to 8 for years! But at the end of the day I came to this conclusion:
- Whatever works for you works for you! –> Meaning that there isn’t this one holy grail of a diet you will find one day. We have to try and see what works best for us.
- Diversity is king! –> The more diverse your diet will look like, the healthier you become.
- Do not eat when you are not hungry! –> Eating for the sake of eating is never a good idea. Eat when you are hungry. Don’t eat when you are not hungry.
- It’s ok to break out of your routine! –> Eating should be fun! Don’t stop enjoying your meals. Eat something unhealthy sometimes! Cheating is allowed!
- Learn how to cook! –> Gosh, this is the worst advice! I suck at cooking! Honestly! But I am getting better over time. And if I can do this, you can do it too! Start cooking your own food!
A good diet starts in your head! Your body will be ready the moment you are! Let’s just start simple today. Just think about what you ate and if you eat it again if this would be your daily meal until the rest of your life.
See you next time!
