It was a normal morning. Average, you could say, really! How can we tell? How would you describe a normal morning? A guy waking up by his girlfriend’s snoring, a girl waking up by the sunlight reaching her head, a child getting woken up by an absurdly strict mom. Pick one of them if you like! If it makes you feel better. It was a normal morning. Nothing special, nothing out of the ordinary. Not even the weather was bad! No, honestly! For a late October day it was pretty decent. Good if you ask an optimist. There was no black cat crossing the street. There were no weird halloween decorations. It was just a normal day like all the others. Got it? Perfect!

Yes! That was the introduction already! Now something happens? Exactly! I guess one of us was sitting in the first row at school and it wasn’t me. Something happens! Again, pick whatever you like. The guy receiving a package. The girl getting a call. The child hearing a sound from underneath the bed. It’s not really important what happens, it’s just important that something happens. You have something in mind? Pick whatever suits you. Got it? Perfect! Let it happen!

Wow! Wow! Wow! Hold on! What? No! You can’t get the guy killed by a knife jumping out of the package! What? You can’t get the girl ran over by a truck after ending the call in shock. What? You can’t put a real monster underneath the childs bed! What were you thinking!? WHAT!? How am I supposed to get out of this story now?

A card was found near the body. Soaked by a thick red liquid that was letter confirmed to be his blood. The package wasn’t for him, man! Why would he open it. His own fault! Honestly! You don’t open other peoples packages! And the girl? The truck driver wasn’t drunk that day. He had no chance but to quit his job. He would never drive a truck again, he told me. And what about the girl? The monster was captured later. It’s been a while. The child has become a woman. But she would never sleep in a bed again. She moved to Japan where it is normal to sleep on the floor.
