I hated this word in the past. Mostly because I was thinking about my English school book. Unit 1, exercise 1, Tony is in the park …. Oh god! I hated it! There was a time when I liked nearly everything in school besides English! But these days the first association that comes to mind is the unit from an engineering perspective. It’s the different units all around the world that make things so complicated and can cause big trouble! Why don’t we agree to universal units? Can someone explain? In an ever changing environment we should strive for clarity. Clarity and simplicity. Two things that we apparently don’t have.

There are nearly as many different units as countries. Yes, let’s make a complicated system more complex! This sounds like a good idea!
