There is a moment when we feel calm. We watch a good movie. Have a walk. You know what I mean. Then there is another state of mind. Just imagine doing the same thing on the first day of your three weeks vacation. You are definitely calmer. Life seems to be good. Life seems to make sense. But whatever comes after that is not calmer, is it? My next level of calmness will be stressed.
It’s a circle, basically. We are not actually making progress. The question is only how long we can stay on the one side before falling down. Imagine you are standing in a tube. The floor represents stress. The moment you try to run up the round walls, you will feel calm, calmer, but then eventually you are either falling back down, or you have too much kinetic force and run down on the other side again. Anyways, after calm and calmer comes stressed.
How do we escape the tube? By trying harder? No! By turning the tube. Turn the tube until calm is underneath your feet. Now you can try a little bit to get calmer, but hey, please don’t overdo it.
Your mindset is everything. In life, so many people are trying so hard. That’s not necessary. Instead of trying harder, ask yourself what you don’t see. It all starts in your head by turning the tube.
See you next time!
