Just don’t stop and you won’t stop.
It sounds so easy, too easy. It sounds so simple, too simple. But when it comes to discipline, we just need to keep on going. Try again, try harder, try it differently. We are all looking for the ultimate truth in life. We want to succeed, to reach our goals, to get the credits for what we have accomplished. But what if life is not even about that? What if this doesn’t even make sense? What if we go through life chasing after the wrong goals?
Discipline is an attitude. It is a lifestyle choice.
Each and everyone out there can reach the very same level of discipline. Sure, we could argue that some seem to do not struggle too much with it, but well, that’s why each and everyone of us is unique. You might struggle with this one, but you may do not struggle so much with other things in life.
Each and every morning you get up, you have a choice to make. Do I get up or stay in bed? No, not necessarily that question, but maybe the lockdown situation has really got you. What I was referring to is a more general approach. Should you give your very best? Making this day the best day of your life so far? Or should you just do what you do and meet the expectations of others, but not more than that?
The truth is, there is no truth.

There is not just that one way how to do things and therefore, not even our approach towards discipline needs to look the same. Of course you can be very strict to yourself and make life hard, but that’s just you changing your perception of the world around you. Discipline needs an inner drive. You need a “why”! A reason!
You might disagree! You might say “What!? I do not need a reason all the time, I just do things!”. But the truth is, that’s just not true. At the end of the day, there is always a reason. Sure, it doesn’t need to be related to money, time, or whatever, but still, we do not do anything without having at least one reason why doing it.
Discipline is already a part of us. The only thing we need to figure out is a way how to use it.
See you next time!
