#810² NEW STIMULI

Life can become this ongoing sequence of events. We experience days that blur perfectly into each other. Weeks blend into months, months into years, years into decades. Is there a way out? A possibility to escape? To slow things down? Yes there is! What we need are new stimuli. Changing our perspective, changing our mindset, we have all heard about those. But working with new stimuli? Who is doing that? Well, I for example.

We go through life in a certain way. We look at things in a certain way. We experience life in a certain way.

At the end of the day it is us who filter out what seems to be important. I see every Porsche there is observe, others might see some sport cars hanging around, well and then there are people who just do not care and do not notice them after all. Setting new stimuli means looking at things a different way. Allowing ourself to enter a new subject matter, something we have never even thought about before.

Recently I got interested in flying. How could that happen? Well, one of my friends is a pilot, I can’t practice on my racing simulator and I have a lot of time learning something new. And so I have started to focus on the topic, learning everything important there is to know. Sure, I do not have the intention to become a pilot, at least not in the real world, but it will help me to look at things a different way. And indeed, that process has already started.

New stimuli are necessary in order to grow.

Wouldn’t life be the most boring thing without new challenges and tasks? It would be! But even worse, the moment we settle down and feel at home, we will start to loose the knowledge we have build up. “Use it or loose it”, is really how it is! The moment we stop focusing on something, we will start to forget. And we forget so easily!

What should you do? You should learn something new! Do something differently! Develop an interest for something you are not familiar with. Life is this ongoing process of learning. Don’t forget that!

See you next time!
