I do it. I love it. It’s the best!
But … it’s not for everyone.

If there is one thing COVID-19 made possible in the business world, it’s the home office. Sure, home office was always some kind of a thing in some sectors of the market. But only the current pandemic made it available for nearly everyone. It is a mandatory thing. At least these days! But what will the future bring? Will the home office disappear as fast as it appeared?

Home office is not for everyone. And it’s not just about the kind of job you are having. Sure, we do not even have to discuss that! If it’s not possible in your job, it’s not possible. We can’t build a production line in your living room. But even if your job makes home office accessible and possible, there is still you! Your personality and work ethic.

I can understand employers who have a hard time sending people into the home office. You can hardly track them at home. But that’s not the point. The point is that some people just need the environment of the workplace to stay motivated and doing their job properly.

I was always the more introverted kind of person. I don’t need other people to feel good. But at work you work in teams. What a sentence, right? I work as a project engineer and have a lot of online meetings. With a lot, I really mean a lot. I talk all the time! But instead of sitting in meetings all day long, working remote offers you the chance to not only have more efficient meetings, but also to increase your productivity.

For me, working from home is the best! Sure, I still tend to work too much! But I am working on that! I promise! And besides, you safe a lot of money and time! Time that I can use differently and money I can use for my racing project. If you are asking me, I will stay in the home office forever! But let’s see what the future will bring. If this company doesn’t give me the opportunity any longer, others will most like do. There is always a way.

Working from home is awesome for people that are really busy in their private life. For all the others, maybe they enjoy going to the office! At least from time to time.
