We have all experienced it. Hopefully it wasn’t on tinder.
The thing about the right perspective is clear the moment we see something from a different angle. Not necessarily the better looking perspective to be precise. And don’t tell me you haven’t found at least one angle in which your face looks ugly, your car bulky, your partner the opposite from sexy. But that isn’t the perspective todays blog post is all about, is it? No, it’s not, or isn’t it the same?
If we have a look at something from two different perspectives and get mixed feelings about it, we experience exactly what todays topic is all about. It’s the same object or situation, but our feelings and opinions can differ a lot.

You can take a look at your paycheck and starting to feel amused or in rage. It’s not necessarily the amount of money you get, it’s about which number you choose to look at. The one at the top or the one at the bottom. A lot of people complain about paying too much taxes. But that’s just one perspective how to look at it. Nobody has forced us to look at the top but still so many of us do.
If you don’t see the problem you don’t have a problem.
The perspective is everything. This example is a bit sketchy, I know. We should look at our taxes and find a way how to decrease them, but that’s a story for another time. Today the only thing that matters is the different feeling. In scenario number one you see all that money that goes away. In scenario number two you just get a bunch of money. Indeed you get the same amount of money both ways, one way just feels much better.
See you next time!
