It would be too easy to say that I don’t care. I do care! We are human after all. But, and this is the important part in the equation, if they don’t care, you shouldn’t either.
Long are the days gone in which you get the necessary respect and gratitude at your workplace. We are all just numbers. People can get exchanged. In fact, they do get exchanged. No-one is that important. The world doesn’t stop turning just because you are gone. It might turn a bit slower, it might cost the company a bit more money, they might struggle a bit here and there, but at the end of the day, they don’t care about you and you shouldn’t about them.
Soon a new chapter of my life is starting. I am changing my job. I don’t leave the company, but I start in a completely different environment. Will I miss my old colleagues? Probably. But that is how life is. I did not necessarily needed the change. They wanted to change the way we work. Now they have to deal with the consequences. I am looking forward to a new team, new projects and a lot of fun.
See you next time!
