We always look for motivation in life. If you don’t believe me, just think about this for a little while.
We go on Spotify and listen to a motivational playlist when doing sport. We follow people on social media that have already reached whatever we want to reach one day as well. We look for inspiration, for motivation, for people that can show us how we are finally going to make it as well.
But what would you say if this is the wrong approach all together? What would you say, if this is helping temporarily, but never on the long run?
The funny thing about it? We already know that it will not hold on for long. This feeling, this motivational boost, the energy flow inside our body. One week? One day? One hour? 5 minutes? If you are lucky, it will keep you pushing forward for a bit longer than that. But after a month, well, 99% of it will be gone. Vanished. Disappeared.
But what is it then, that we really need? And don’t tell me “A REASON”!

Well, Ehmm, a reason! Or better, two reasons, or three, or even more than that!
The thing is, that life tends to be very simple. Sure, it doesn’t look like this from our own perspective, but if you would forget about yourself for a little moment and jump high above the sky, you would see how simple it is. A bunch of people running around on this planet like little ants, fighting, eating, working, relaxing, living. Up in the air, this spectacle seems to be not very complex. Those people are just running around, doing whatever they think is the right thing to do.
But how is this related to todays topic? The thing is, there are no reasons for doing anything!
Of course you protest! Wait! No! There are a lot of reasons! And indeed, there are a lot of them! But who invented them? Who set them up? In this game we call life, there are rules. Of course there are! But who has invented them? The government? A higher power? If you ask me, I would say no! People! People have invented those rules. But who has invented the reasons then?
Why do we go to school? Why do we live in houses? Why do we eat meat? Why do we want to travel the world in our holidays?
The thing about reasons is, that everyone might have different ones!
Is that a good thing? I guess, you can’t say that, but you can also do not change it. The funny thing about it? It doesn’t even matter what the others are doing, or thinking, or believing in. The only thing that matters is you. Sounds selfish? Sounds egoistic? Well, deal with it! That’s called life!
Everything you are doing or have been doing in your life so far is the direct consequence out of your reasons. You went to church? You had a relationship? You had a job? You traveled the world? You did sport? Whatever it is! You wouldn’t have done it without a reason! Of course not!
But why is so hard for people to create their own reasons in order to push through something they would otherwise never do?
Because we lack the creativity? The understanding of what is going on? The mindset? The motivation?
Today is Sunday, it’s currently 5:50 am and I am writing this thing. Why? Because of my reasons! Because of what I want to do! What I want to reach! Where I see myself in 5 years!
Some people can not understand how it is possible to write a blog post every single day. But indeed, it is very simple. You just write! Sure, if I would need to find the motivation first, well, that would be exhausting. But there is no need for motivation! If there is a reason, the motivation will come automatically. This internal drive will boost you towards your goals. Like a slingshot it will accelerate your life and shoot you towards your goals!
Instead of trying to get you off the couch every single day, you should ask yourself once where you want to go and believe me or not, but once you know that it is worth fighting for, it will make your life half as easy!
But my reasons are not strong enough!
Then make them stronger! Do not be afraid to fail! We all fail! Or do you think that I set my reasons once and that’s it? No! Of course not! It took me years to do that! But once I understood, well, I could define them once and for all! Actually, I have defined them on the 7th of Mai in 2017 in combination with my vision board. And since I have done that, well, life has become so easy!
You don’t believe me? Well, why don’t you try it out on your own? It costs just time. And time is something everyone of us have! We just need to take some time!
See you next time!
