The thing is, that we do not read enough. We do not invest as much time into the project as we should. Sure, we have this idea in mind, this concept, this dream. But at the end of the day, whatever we have in mind is just not enough. It will not start on its own, your project I mean. We, we are the ones that need to take the next steps. We need to move forward! We need to tackle the tasks in life.

Are you ready?

I think about this topic for years already, but do I feel well prepared? Honestly, the answer is no! I do not feel well prepared. In fact, the more I read, the more I realize how little I know. This world, a very complex place. Especially in Germany. Just starting up something? For sure, the startup romantic always triggers us! But is this really how things are going? Is this really what is going on out there in the world?

I see people failing. I see people doing the same mistakes over and over again. But why do we fail? Because we start too soon? Because we do not have the experience we need? This world is a complex place and starting up a profitable business one of the most difficult tasks. But that doesn’t mean that it is impossible. It just means that we should invest more of our time in thinking it through. In getting the right information at the right time. In finding the right people that may help us to move on and take the next steps.

I am far away from being ready to finally start, but what do I do exactly in order to get ready? In the past, of course I had this master program in the back of my head all the time. But that is done by now. Sure, I am still an adviser for my formula student racing team, but come on, that doesn’t take too much of my time. In fact, the only thing that is really standing in my way these days is finding the job that I want. But after that, I will have more than enough time.

But that’s the wrong attitude towards things. Why? Because there is always something coming up. If I had waited until I had finally the time to do this blog project properly, I would have never started it. Therefore, it’s neither the one thing nor the other, but rather the way in between, that we should go. We should ask ourself what we can do today in order to move on in our projects, sure, but we can not lose the focus on more general topics as well. What we need is a new approach towards things that allows us to move on in the project without investing too much or too little. It should be like a simulation of things.

Honestly, I want to give my self a couple of weeks off. A couple of weeks to relax. To solve some important issues in my life and get settled down a little bit. But after that, well, I am ready to hit the project again and into the next project phase.
