The key to success? Doing as much as possible!

When it comes to the learning of a language, there is so much more to learn than just the vocabularies. A language doesn’t only consist out of words, grammar and the way people speak. It’s the way people express themselves, the culture, the history, the lifestyle.

Learning a language is hard! There is no way around that. It takes a lot of time and energy. But a good strategy towards learning a language, especially if you have already build up the basics, is the following concept.

The bubble

Create your own little bubble, a world, in which you are making the rules. You don’t life in Italy? No problem, you can make your life italian, wherever you live.

The bubble concept helped me a lot with English, no, actually, it was the breakthrough. It was the only way how I could ever become as good as I am today. Not in one hundred years had I managed to reach the same level as I have reached today.

Can I repeat it again with Italian? I guess the chances are very high. Sure, I am still lacking the basics. But soon, I will be able to take the next step.

With my new job coming up on the horizon, of course there are currently other priorities in my life. But that is actually the great thing about the bubble concept. You turn your life upside down anyways. You allow this language to enter your life and make the room that it takes. And don’t tell me you do not have any time for that. Of course you can’t sit there all day long studying! I agree! But you can listen to the language while driving to work, cooking your favorite meal, eating, doing sport, relaxing, or whatever that comes to mind.

Sure, you can also just get a partner that speaks the language, but that seems like a lot of work. Instead of the hot Italian girlfriend or boyfriend, which we will not find anyways if we are honest to ourselves, I rather suggest a less aggressive approach. Look for a language partner online. And there are thousands of people, believe me! Just tell them, that you are not into dating and you will find the right person soon.

The bubble works, because you will end up doing everything in the language of yours. Of course you also switch your phone into the language and so on, but be careful! Only if you now the language quite well. Otherwise, it’s really a pain in the ass.
